It has been quite a busy summer for us!! It started with me finding a job! I completed my internship at the church in May and in June I started working at Mom's Best Friend (MBF), a nanny agency. My first month I was working as a backup childcare provider and office assistant. This meant that I would work in the office but when they had last minute nanny jobs come in or a nanny didn't show up for a job, I would go out for temporary nanny jobs. I really enjoyed this position as it provided a lot of variety and I got to spend time with a lot of different kids and families.
At the end of July a full time staff position opened up at MBF. I was given the opportunity to step into this position and am now a Staffing Specialist at MBF. I work with all of the permanent nannies. I interview them, take them through our screening process, help match them with a family and help to provide them opportunities for continued training. Oh and did I mention... I LOVE IT. My job is all about people and providing them with good customer service. I also love it because I work in an office full of wonderful women! It is such a unique environment that I am so thankful to get to spend every day in!
Our summer has also been filled with company. From friends to sisters to other family.... our guest room has gotten a lot of use! We have really enjoyed our time with everyone who has been able to come and visit. But it is nice to be back to just the 2 of us.... at least for a little while!
That is all for now! :)

I am a HUNTER
a job hunter that is... :)
I'm still in search of a job here in Austin. I'm interning at the church part time and I love it. I do admin for the Children's Minister and love everyone I work with. And it is a plus to get to see my hubby hard at work 2 days a week.
I am needing something more substantial though and so my job hunt continues. I absolutely loved being a nanny the 5 months before the wedding and so I'm pursuing that field some. I also really enjoy doing administrative work and so I'm looking into some possibilities in that direction. Prayers are greatly appreciated as I seek direction for where to look and also for doors to open. We will see what happens!
I love being married and am enjoying sharing my life with Matthew. I'm not so good at sharing the bed so some times that causes some controversy but nothing we can't overcome. :)

Saturday (Organization and Cleaning)
Today was a day of accomplishment. We didn't get everything done that we had hoped, but we put a pretty big dent in the 'to do' list. Since moving into our new apartment in Austin, we have found ourselves pretty busy and haven't really taken the time to organize the storage closet and the closet in the guest bedroom. Anyways, after a couple of hours of pulling things out, organizing into appropriate containers and labeling them our storage closet is almost completely full and the guest bedroom is starting to actually fit that description. Once we get my bunk bed out of storage and set it up, the guest bedroom will be able to accommodate our guests much better.
One of the big motivators for this project, other than our desire to be organized, it that Caitlin, my younger sister is coming to spend a month with us this summer and we are wanting give her a place she can call her own while she is here.
Now, Lisa and I are winding down with a little Guitar Hero and will soon retire to the bedroom to watch a couple of episodes of 'Bones'.
Goodnight.
